A Bit About Mahsa

Mahsa is originally from Iran, where she discovered clay at the age of fourteen, beginning a lifelong connection to ceramics that has grown alongside her career as a biomedical engineer and her continued exploration of painting and mixed-media work.

During a deeply challenging period while supporting her sister through chemotherapy, Mahsa turned to hand building as a grounding and reflective practice, an experience that shaped her artistic path and led to the foundation of her interest in teaching and sharing ceramics with others. Her work often blends function with form, carrying texture and quiet narrative rather than emphasizing technique, and has become closely tied to themes of resilience, care, and memory.

Together with her husband, Mahsa shares a passion for travel and discovering the artistic traditions of different cultures. She is especially inspired by ceramic arts around the world, often seeking out local studios, makers, and craft communities during her journeys.

Today, she continues to share ceramics through teaching and community studio work, using art to create connection, healing, and community.
