Ben began his pottery journey during his studies as an art minor at the university. There, he formed the foundation of his throwing and hand-building knowledge. He has refined his technique over the years into what his current style of pottery is now.

 

Although wheel throwing is his preferred method of pottery creation, Ben likes to incorporate hand-built elements to add more dimension and life to his thrown pieces. Ben draws much influence from the area he grew up in: the Florida Gulf Coast. Motifs of the wildlife, flora, and natural colors from that coast find their way into his works.
