Throughout the 8-week intermediate/advanced wheel-throwing course, the instructor(s) will provide demonstrations, individual guidance, and feedback tailored to each student's skill level and goals. Students will explore advanced techniques of wheel throwing and will be encouraged to push their creative boundaries and develop their unique style of throwing. This course is not for beginners. It is designed to challenge throwers in their practice. It is expected that students can comfortably center 2 pounds of clay and throw a small, straight cylinder to begin this course.

Good to Know

No make-up classes are offered, but if you miss a class, you’ll get 3 hours of open studio time as a one-time courtesy.

Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment, in which case you can sign up for another series, or receive a full refund.

Enrolled students can use the studio during open hours throughout the 8-week course, except when classes or workshops are scheduled.

We recommend bringing your apron and towel. If you need an apron, Potters Union aprons are available for purchase at the studio or through the app.

We recommend bringing your tools, but you're more than welcome to use our studio tools if not. Need a set? A basic tool kit is available for purchase at the studio.
